Terms of use
Last updated November 8, 2026
These terms cover the Doorman Mac app and this website. By downloading or buying Doorman, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so they're short.
Who sells it
Doorman is made by an independent developer. Purchases are handled by Polar, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Polar takes the payment, sends your receipt and license key, and handles sales tax and VAT. Polar's own terms also apply to the checkout.
Free beta
While Doorman is in beta, every feature is free, with no trial clock and no card. Your beta copy keeps working after the beta ends. The license terms below apply once the paid version is on sale.
Your license
- One payment, at the price and tax shown at checkout, buys a license for one person.
- Use it on up to 3 of your own Macs at once. You can free up a Mac yourself and move the license to another one.
- It never expires, and there's no subscription.
- Updates for the version you bought are included, and that version keeps working for as long as your Mac runs it.
- Please don't share, resell or publish your license key, or try to get around the license check.
What it does on your Mac
Doorman needs Accessibility and Input Monitoring permission to put windows back and to tell your keys from an app's. You can turn it off, pause it or uninstall it at any time. It's built to stay out of the way of things you open yourself, but it works alongside other software we don't control, so it can occasionally get a call wrong. Keep your own backups of anything important, as with any app.
Refunds
If Doorman isn't right for you, you can get your money back within 30 days of buying it. The refund policy has the details.
No warranty
Doorman is provided as it is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise it will be free of bugs or suit every setup. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the license. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date above. The terms in place when you bought your license keep applying to that license.
